Architectural Gem: Holiday Hall
NC State University
Holiday Hall, constructed in 1889, is a distinctive H-shaped building featuring a three-story central pavilion flanked by two-and-one-half-story gable-roofed wings. Originally named Main Building, it was later renamed in honor of the first president, Alexander Quarles Holladay. The edifice, showcasing a blend of Classical and Romanesque elements, serves as the first-ever structure erected for the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, now known as N.C. State University.
